Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether, in view of the rise in the price of agricultural land, and in particular the effect of this on owner-occupiers, he will seek powers to prevent the buying or holding of agricultural land by the institutions, as is the case in other European countries.
§ Mr. Anthony StodartI would not consider that course to be desirable. Only one EEC member country operates such a restriction.
