Mr. Arthur Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the exhibition held at Kings Sutton from 1st to 4th May on a series of possible alternative 344W routes for the M40 motorway between Ardley and Banbury; how many attended; and what lessons have been drawn from this exhibition.
§ Mr. SpeedAbout 1,800 people attended the exhibition. The resultant expression of local opinions will be of value in formulating statutory proposals; and such exhibitions, with some improvement of detail, will clearly be an essential element in future public participation exercises.
