§ 71. Sir G. Nabarroasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what estimate he has made of the total loss of production, ad valorem, incurred by the motor industry as a result of strikes, disturbances, and lockouts, during the 12 months ended 30th June 1972, or the latest convenient date.
§ Mr. ChatawayNo assessment of loss of production by value has been made. It is estimated, however, that in 1972 some 225,000 cars and about 15,000 commercial vehicles were lost through industrial disputes within and outside the motor industry.
