HC Deb 09 July 1973 vol 859 cc273-4W
Mr. Maclennan

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will take steps to amend the eligibility conditions under the Employment Transfer Scheme to ensure that unemployed workers, or those threatened with redundancy and living in tied accommodation, may obtain assistance when they move for the purpose of obtaining other employment from the tied accommodation, even if the place to which they move is within daily travelling distance of that accommodation.

Mr. Dudley Smith

My right hon. Friend has no plans either to extend the scheme to cover moves to employment within daily travelling distance of a person's home area or to make special provision for people who have to move from tied accommodation.
