54. Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will modify the Counter-Inflation (Price and Pay Code) Order 1973 in order to ensure that in the field of education, potential fee increases by non-profit-making organisations are covered equally in comparison with profit-making organisations.

Mr. Nott

My right hon. Friend has no plans to do so at present, but the Government have, of course, made it clear that we are prepared to consider representations on the code and on the arrangements to follow stage 2.
