§ Mr. Knoxasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proportion of the privately owned wealth of the United Kingdom was owned by the wealthiest 1 per cent., 5 per cent. and 10 per cent. respectively of the population aged 15 years or over for each of the years since 1945 to the latest available date.
§ Mr. NottOfficial estimates of the privately-owned wealth of Great Britain 171W have been made only since 1960. The figures are based on those published in Inland Revenue Statistics. They do not include the wealth of pension funds or of small estates for which no probate is necessary. The percentage figures are as follows:
