Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when Lord Grey of Naunton's term of office as Governor of Northern Ireland expires; and what are the arrangements for the discharge of his duties and for the representation of the Crown in Northern Ireland during the period between His Excellency's departure from his post and the enactment of relevant constitutional legislation.

Her Majesty the Queen has revoked the commission of appointment of Lord Grey of Naunton as Governor of Northern Ireland to take effect from 30th June. By virtue of Section 1 (1) of the Northern Ireland (Temporary Provisions) Act, all functions of the Governor are vested in me. Her Majesty's Lieutenants represent Her Majesty in Northern Ireland.
