§ Mr. Powellasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will seek powers which would enable him to cancel any notice issued by the Pay Board to the effect that all those, including employers, concerned with pay negotiations have an obligation under the Counter-Inflation Act 1973, when dealing with pay matters, to "follow the Pay Code".

My right hon. Friend does not intend to seek any further powers additional to those already available under paragraph 18 of Schedule 1 and paragraph 6 of Schedule 2 to the Counter-Inflation Act 1973.
