§ Mr. Harold Wilsonasked the Prime Minister whether it is proposed that gifts should be presented to the Government and Legislature of the Bahamas to mark the attainment of independence by the Bahamas on 10th July.
§ The Prime MinisterI am sure that the whole House will wish to send warm congratulations to the Bahamas on her forthcoming independence and best wishes for the happiness and prosperity of her people. Her Majesty's Government will propose that this House should offer a84W parliamentary gift to the House of Assembly of the Bahamas. Her Majesty's Government, for their part, have decided to offer a gift of silver rose bowls to the Government of the Bahamas to mark the occasion.
