HC Deb 02 July 1973 vol 859 cc6-7W
24. Mr. Edwin Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the estimated cost of the Central Electricity Generating Board's present proposals for the building of oil-fired power stations; and what is his policy on new power stations.

Mr. Emery

The current capital investment programme of the CEGB includes about £420 million for the building of oil-fired power stations at Littlebrook D and Killingholme. The Government take into account all relevant factors, including the requirements of energy policy, before reaching a decision on proposals for new power stations.
