HC Deb 02 July 1973 vol 859 c34W
Sir R. Russell

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will make a statement on the danger to the roof of the annex to Alperton High School, Wembley; and if she is satisfied that all other school buildings in Wembley are safe from this kind of danger.

Mrs. Thatcher

Alperton High School was one of 15 educational buildings which were specially checked after the collapse of part of the roof at Camden Girls' School. I am informed by the local education authority that the annex of the Alperton building has been found to need strengthening and has been taken out of use in the meantime. All other school buildings of similar design in Wembley have now been checked by the local education authority and found to be safe.
