§ 27. Mr. Ewingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make conditions governing sales of property to prevent the practice of speculators buying buildings owned by the Ministry of Defence and making large profits by reselling them as flats, etc.
§ Mr. ChannonIt has been the practice under successive Governments that sales of Government property whether by auction, tender or private treaty are at market value. I have no evidence at this time which would suggest the need for a change in this practice.
