§ Mr. David HowellThe following table gives the information for advance payments to shopkeepers, traders and businessmen under the Emergency Finance Scheme between 1st April and 31st December 1972. Payments are advances of compensation which may ultimately be awarded under the Criminal Injuries Acts (Northern Ireland) 1956–1970. Responsibility for the Emergency Finance Office has been transferred from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Home Affairs where it is being amalgamated with that Ministry's Criminal Injuries Branch.
