§ Mr. NottTaking the internal purchasing power of £100 as relating to October 1964, its value in March 1966, June 1970 and December 1972, the latest date for which information is available, is estimated at £94.50, £77.50 and £63.70 respectively. These estimates are based on the movement in the Consumer Price Index between 1964 and 1968 and the movements in the General Index of Retail Prices for other periods.
