§ Sir G. HoweThe enlarged EEC agreed at the October 1972 Summit meeting to approach these negotiations in a forthcoming spirit and on the basis of a progressive liberalisation of international trade. We shall, jointly with our Community partners, take full account of any proposals to this end from the United States.
