§ Mrs. FennerThe EEC directive comes into effect for the domestic market in February 1976. One of its requirements is that each bird must be eviscerated immediately after slaughter to allow full inspection of the carcase. The concern which this requirement is causing producers of New York dressed poultry has been brought to our attention by the NFU and an assurance has been given that the matter will be kept under review.
