Sir Bernard Braineasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will state the reasons why there are further delays in the completion of the viaduct over East Haven Creek; and whether a firm date can now be given for the opening of the Canvey Island approach road originally due to be opened last autumn.
§ Mr. SpeedI understand from Essex County Council, the highway authority, that this scheme has been delayed by unforeseen construction problems and industrial action, but completion is now expected in April.
