§ Mr. Thomas Coxasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will make an early statement on his attitude to recommendation 15.7(a) in the Layfield Report about action on all components of the overall transport strategy.
§ Mr. RipponParagraph 30 of the statement published on 19th February indicated that the Government wholly endorse the panel's views that comprehensive and co-ordinated transport policies are needed, and accept that individual decisions should be taken in the context of policies for the whole range of relevant topics.
