§ Mr. Parkinsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether there was a net inflow of overseas investment into the United Kingdom private sector during the calendar year of 1972.
§ Mr. NottThere was a net outflow in the first nine months of 1972 estimated at about £500 million. This reflected the high level of outward portfolio investment in North America and the EEC which was financed by foreign currency borrowing. Full figures for 1972 will be published on 6th March.
