§ Mr. David Priceasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what research work he is sponsoring into the use of after-burners and of controlled injec- 366W tion in internal combustion engines for the purpose of reducing the atmospheric pollution caused by motor vehicles; and on current information what economic penalty would have to be paid for their intrdouction into current types of vehicles.
§ Mr. PeytonExtensive research is being carried out by industry. My Department has a continuing programme for the evaluation of equipment developed as a result of this research. The use of after-burners and associated equipment might add £300 to the cost of a vehicle.
