HC Deb 22 February 1973 vol 851 c156W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many Government factories there now are in Scotland; when each one was completed; how many abortive applications there have been in respect of each; and which ones are at present the subject of an application for tenancy.

Mr. Anthony Grant

There are 1,024 Government factories in total in Scotland built over the years since the 1930s. The number of completions in each year over this period is not available.

Eight factories now empty have been the subject recently of 16 abortive applications. Four of them are the subject of current applications, namely:

  • Clydebank No. 2.
  • Coatbridge No. 2.
  • Girvan No. 2.
  • Greenock.
