§ Mr. Maurice MacmillanIn 1972, disputes referred for arbitration with the consent of the parties were the subject of 90 hearings under the Industrial Courts Act 1919 and other relevant legislation. This compares with 76 in 1971 and an average of 62 over the five years to 1970. In addition the Industrial Arbitration Board heard five claims under the Terms and Conditions of Employment Act 1959 and two complaints under the Fair Wages Resolution of 1946 compared with seven and two respectively in 1971.
