§ Mr. Gwynoro Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will seek powers to establish a development board for Mid-Wales similar to the Highlands and Islands Development Board in Scotland, with responsibility for agriculture, forestry, tourism and industrial development.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasI understand that the Welsh Council has studied the work of the Highlands and Islands Development Board in relation to the problems of mid-Wales. I will consider this matter further in the light of its report, which I expect to receive shortly.
