§ Mr. Tom BoardmanResearch on a limited scale based primarily on the production of special carbon products from coal is being carried on by the National Coal Board. Research and development work on the conversion of coal into oil is being carried out abroad in certain countries, and the progress of this work is kept under very close review by the8W scientists of the National Coal Board and the Department.
