§ Dame Patricia Hornsby-Smithasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will investigate the circumstances under which a series of confectionery and tobacconist shops in Oxford Street, Regent Street and Leicester Square, impose a surcharge over the recommended price of one new penny on every packet of cigarettes and surcharges rising from two new pence to three new pence on chocolate and packets of sweets when sold after 6 p.m.; and if he will make a statement.
