§ Mr. Anthony StodartPersistent pesticides of this kind are withdrawn when satisfactory alternatives become available. As yet there is no such alternative to dieldrin as a seed dressing. Meantime the Advisory Committee on Pesticides and Other Toxic Chemicals prescribes—and keeps under review—the precautions needed to safeguard wildlife.
