§ Mr. Cledwyn Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement, in the light of the remarks of Her Majesty's Coroner for Caernarvon-shire, about the identification and subsequent disposal of deceased persons at the Caernarvon and Anglesey Infirmary, Bangor.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasThe coroner wrote on 31st January to the Group Secretary of the Caernarvonshire and Anglesey Hospital Management Committee expressing concern about conditions at the mortuary. Immediate steps were then taken at the432W infirmary to improve both the mortuary, and the arrangements for the identification and disposal of deceased persons. At the same time, the Welsh Hospital Board has asked all hospital management committees in Wales to review the procedure in post-mortem rooms and mortuaries and to report to the board.
