Mr. S. James A. Hill

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what discussions are taking place between the Department of Trade and Industry and the British motor vehicle manufacturers on the resolution of the European Parliament which requests the Commission to draw up proposals for reducing the lead content for motor vehicles to 0.4 grams per litre to begin with, for economic and environmental reasons.
