HC Deb 14 February 1973 vol 850 c348W
Mr. Loveridge

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will set up a comprehensive mapping survey of derelict lands to replace the former procedure of making annual estimates of total acreages and to survey the derelict lands throughout the United Kingdom, on the lines of the survey announced for Wales.

Mr. Graham Page

No. Following consultation with the local authority associations, and after a pilot exercise, an extended survey of derelict and despoiled land is to be introduced for England from 1st April 1974. The form of survey was set out in a departmental circular which was issued on 10th January 1973 and of which I will send my hon. Friend a copy.
