HC Deb 14 February 1973 vol 850 cc365-6W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister of State for Defence what the usual practice is with regard to the granting of leave to other ranks and officers serving in Germany; to what extent week-end leave is generally granted to these Servicemen for visits to Great Britain; and whether officers serving in the Queen's Dragoon Guards are generally or individually granted any special privilege, so far as home leave is concerned.

Mr. Blaker

Subject to the requirements of the Service, leave at public expense is granted to officers and other ranks as laid down in the Army Leave Manual. Servicemen may be granted permission for visits to Great Britain at weekends at their own expense. No special privileges are granted to officers serving in the Queen's Dragoon Guards either generally or individually so far as home leave is concerned.
