§ Mr. Gwynoro Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what was the number of factories that were actually established in Wales in 1972, and the number of jobs created, giving the figures for every year since 1968.
§ Mr. Anthony GrantWe know of 23 establishments still in operation with origins outside Wales or new to manufacturing within Wales. They employ nearly 1,300 persons, but they estimate that about 1,600 more jobs are expected from these projects when fully manned. The figures for the previous years are at present as follows but it should be borne in mind that the figures for new jobs created by projects established in the last two years will continue to rise until establishments reach their planned employment level.
