§ Mr. EyreIn the years ending in September 1970, September 1971 and September 1972, the numbers of new dwellings sold and mortgaged with building societies or insurance companies in the United Kingdom were 135,000, 165,000 and 178,000 respectively. The proportions sold for less than £8,000 in each of the three years were 92 per cent., 90 per cent. and 79 per cent. respectively.

The proportions sold for less than £8,000 were 91 per cent., 87 per cent. and 74 per cent. respectively. In addition, the numbers of dwellings sold and mortgaged with local authorities were 33,000, 48,000 and 213W 48,000 respectively but I have no information on the proportion sold for less than £8,000.
