§ Mr. AlisonLevels of recruitment continue to rise, and full account has been taken of the need for a further substantial increase in the local authority sector in the rate support grant negotiations for 1973–4. The local authority ten-year plans about to be submitted will give further information about manpower requirements for the local authority social services over the next decade; and my Department will continue to be in close touch with the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work about the implications for training.
