§ The Attorney-GeneralDuring 1972 the Court of Protection made orders for the sale of houses belonging to patients, including those in mental hospitals, in between 800 and 900 cases. In 115 of these cases the Official Solicitor acted as receiver. Separate figures for sales of houses with their contents are not available.
