HL Deb 20 December 1973 vol 348 c579WA
LORD O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How much money they hope to obtain from the E.E.C. Social Fund (Article 4) for migrant workers: how they interpret the words "migrant workers" in a British context; and how they intend to use what they receive.

LORD DRUMALBYN

Until the Commission's proposal for Article 4 assistance has been accepted and fully worked out by the Council and it has been agreed how migrant workers should be defined for this purpose, the Government will not know how much money they will receive, or for what purposes it may be used. In Britain the term "migrant workers" covers all workers from overseas.
