§ Mr. Bishopasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make an order permitting the use of illuminated lights in the home at Christmas.
326W
§ Mr. EmeryNo. Purposely the use of Christmas illuminations is allowed within the home, but I would urge everybody to exercise the utmost economy in the use of Christmas tree lights and of electricity generally. In dealing with the lighting of a tree in a window or porch, obviously external display is prohibited; where these are internal they are permitted, but again I would urge that the use of the lights is kept to the absolute minimum.
