HL Deb 19 December 1973 vol 348 cc455-6WA
LORD BROOKE of CUMNOR

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have any statement to make on the prices of the Lords' Hansard and other H.M.S.O. publications.

LORD WINDLESHAM

Hansard prices have remained unchanged since January, 1971, despite increases in production costs and overheads. It is now necessary to increase the price of the daily edition from 18p to 20p and of the weekly edition from 35p to 39p, with corresponding increases in the prices of indices, bound volumes and subscription rates. The revised prices will come into effect in January, 1974, when Parliament resumes after the Christmas Adjournment.

These increases in Hansard prices are part of a general increase in H.M.S.O. prices and London Gazette advertisement rates which have been agreed following consultation with the Price Commission.

House adjourned at half-past eight o'clock.
