§ Mr. Maginnisasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps he is taking to ensure that the Northern Ireland electors' lists are properly revised.
§ Mr. David HowellThe Chief Electoral Officer for Northern Ireland is responsible for the preparation and publication of annual electors' lists. The current lists were published on 30th November. Anyone who believed himself to be qualified as an elector was entitled to claim for inclusion on the lists, or to object to an elector whose name had been included, by 15th December 1973. The Chief Electoral Officer has today published a list of all claims and objections, and will hear and determine them next month. The Register of Electors, including any corrections, will be published by 15th February 1974. Extensive publicity has been given to these arrangements.
