§ Mr. BuckLeading Writer Bryant was charged under Section 14A of the Naval Discipline Act with failure to report an accident to the Service authorities in accordance with station standing orders and under Section 42 of the Naval Discipline Act and Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1972 with driving without due care and attention. He pleaded guilty to the first charge and not guilty to the second. The maximum penalty that could be imposed was two years' imprisonment on the first charge and a fine of £100 on the second. The proceedings took place on 19th June 1973.
