§ Mr. Dempseyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware of the practice among young people of sniffing toxic glue which can damage health; if he will introduce legislation to ban the sale of this commodity to young people; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LaneI share the hon. Member's concern at this dangerous practice, and I urge all who care for or work with young people to warn them against it. A ban on sales, which would have to apply to a wide range of domestic products, would not be practicable or justified, in view of the small number of people who misuse them. I shall, however, continue to seek an acceptable solution to the problem.
