HL Deb 13 December 1973 vol 347 cc1357-8WA
LORD MONTAGU OF BEAULIEU

asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. 1. When the Eastern End of the M.3 will be open for traffic;
  2. 2. When tenders will be sought for the Popham-Chandlers Ford section;
  3. 3. When it is hoped that the M.3 will be complete from London to Southampton.

Lord MOWBRAY AND STOURTON

My Lords, the section of the M.3 between Lightwater and Sunbury Cross is expected to be opened next spring. It is hoped that, subject to the satisfactory completion of the outstanding statutory procedures and the availability of funds, tenders will be invited for the Popham to Compton section during the latter half of 1975 and that the M.3 from London to Southampton, incorporating the existing Otter-bourne and Chandlers Ford by-pass, will be completed by the end of 1977.

House adjourned at four minutes before seven o'clock.
