HC Deb 13 December 1973 vol 866 cc177-8W
Mr. Marsden

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what advice he gives, in the present fuel shortage, to haulage firms which have gas oil in stock; and whether, in the present situation, he will allow gas oil to be used in place of diesel oil for their lorries.

Mr. Higgins

I have been asked to reply.

Gas oil is marked and dyed hydrocarbon oil dutied at the non-road fuel rate of 1p per gallon and I would accordingly refer the hon. Member to my reply on 11th December to my hon. Friend the Member for Birmingham, Perry Barr (Mr. Kinsey).
