1969–70 1971–72 £ £ Greater London 660 830 England 540 670 The income figures used in calculating these averages are derived from the Surveys of Personal Incomes for 1969–70 and 1971–72. They exclude incomes below £330 for 1969–70 and below £420 for 164W 1971–72 and non-taxable receipts such as certain national insurance benefits. The population figures used relate to mid-1969 and mid-1971 and include all individuals of all ages whether they have an income or not.
