§ Mr. Dudley SmithA consultative document about the future of sheltered employment for disabled people is being published today. The document is the third in a series of papers which review our employment policies and services for disabled people and consider how they can best be improved. It sets out the background facts about the present provisions of sheltered employment, describes the problems and suggests possible improvements. The document is intended to form the basis of widespread public discussion on the issues involved and to enable us to obtain the views of the many interested organisations and individuals before my right hon. Friend reaches any conclusions about future policy in this field. Copies of the document are available in the Vote Office.
