§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will give an assurance that no final agreement will be made with the other EEC countries on regional aid before the House of Commons has an opportunity of discussing the final proposals.
§ Mr. John DaviesI am unable to give the hon. Gentleman such an assurance. I would remind him that we had a debate as recently as 27th November on European Community Affairs, with special emphasis on regional policy. In the forthcoming discussions in the Council the United Kingdom representatives will be able to act in full knowledge of the views of the House.—[Vol. 865, c. 215.]
