§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will ensure that, when local government reorganisation comes into being in April next year, the present schools now catered for by the Carlisle Education Authority will still be allocated sufficient money to enable them to expand.
§ Mr. RaisonThe Department's Circular 1/73 set out arrangements designed to ensure that the impetus of school building would not be lost during the reorganisation of local government. I have no reason to believe that the schools now catered for by the Carlisle Education Authority will suffer as a result of this reorganisation.
