§ Mr. Moateasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she is satisfied with the workings of the Education Act with regard to the provision of concessionary and special travel facilities for schoolchildren, particularly in view of the changing transport patterns in rural and semi-rural areas and the raising of the school leaving age ; and if she will consider instituting a special study into this problem.
§ Mr. RaisonThe present arrangements for, including the existing law affecting, the provision of school transport have been under study by a working party established last year by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education
414Wa particular school is assessed in relation to its particular character and aims and the range of pupils for which it caters. There is no parallel classification for maintained schools.
