§ Mr. Eldon GriffithsIn recent years progress has been most encouraging. By the end of 1970, 34,329 premises in the city area had been covered by smoke control orders. During 1971 this figure rose by 3,073 and during 1972 by 3,526 premises. So far during 1973 another 10,871 have been added, making present total coverage 54 per cent. of all premises in the city area.
