§ Mr. Moateasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is his estimate of the extra fuel which has been and will be consumed as a result of the delays caused to aircraft landings at Heathrow, arising from major repairs being undertaken to runways during the period of the fuel shortage.
§ Mr. OnslowEssential repair work on the main northern runway at Heathrow began on 15th November and was completed on 23rd November. It is not possible to estimate the fuel which may have been consumed as a result of the temporary closure.
