asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will provide financial assistance to the British Museum for the purchase of Heywood's manuscript "Tom a Lincoln".

Mr. St. John-Stevas

If the British Library decides to apply for a special purchase grant, this will be considered under the usual arrangements.
